<p>Data for 2023 are preliminary estimates. In this indicator, permanent migration includes new migrant entries as well as change of residence status from temporary to permanent during a year.</p> <br />
<p>Data are not directly comparable across countries due to differences in criteria to identify international migrants (e.g. definition of residence and duration of stay), methods of data collection, sources of international migration flow data (e.g. population registers, border statistics, issuance of residence permits, etc.), and criteria to identify the country of origin and destination of the migrant. Additionally, several OECD countries report migration statistics for fiscal years and not calendar years.</p>
